Perfume of the week... Battling the heatwave & 5 perfume suggestions…

It’s officially summer!! To be honest I had my doubts that summer would actually arrive and I sincerely hope that it will last for a while. I prepared my personal 5 perfume suggestions, that help me get through the heatwave.

This post was supposed to be published last week but my site migration and other adventures didn't allow me to post it. Here it is now and I hope you enjoy my suggestions!!

Giorgio Armani – Acqua Di Gio

A must for every summer since I can remember – the original fragrance was inspired by Giorgio Armani’s’ holiday spent on the isle of Pantelleria. Acqua di Gio smells of sea, sand, fruits and flowers, fresh and juicy, yet with a warm and sun bathed temperament.

Roger & Gallet - Fleur de Figuier

Aromatic and fruity, it has been a staple in my summer scent wardrobe since 2013 when it was launched. Sweet fig fruit and leaf are combined with citruses, spices and woods to give a juicy interpretation of summer treats.

4711 Nouveau Cologne by Maurer & Wirtz

The original 4711 with a twist, still very refreshing but with added blackcurrant, litchi and tonka beans.

Very fresh and citrusy with an added fruitiness and warmth, I always keep it in my bag and spray it with abandon when I feel hot!

Bronze Goddess Soleil – Estée Lauder

It all started with Tom Ford’s Azurée Soleil in 2007. Ever since that year, when spring arrives, Estée introduces us to a new version of a summer scent. Bronze Goddess Soleil was introduced in 2011 and is a citrusier version of the usual coconut – sunscreen – tiare mix. Extra lavender and petit grain on top of the lemon, bergamot and tangerine lighten the jasmine and orange blossom in the heart and give it a sparkle and fizziness that settles to a warm base of blonde woods, iris, ambrette and musk. There is a version out every year but this remains my favourite.

Terracotta Le Parfum - Guerlain

Honey scented sunshine, this is how I would describe my ultimate summer perfume. It smells of sun warmed skin and floral breeze with a hint of coconut. Initially a limited edition when it launched in 2014, it didn’t take long before it became a permanent addition to the Guerlain family.

It is described as a solar floral perfume. It opens with accords of bergamot, coconut and tiare flower, white florals like jasmine, ylang-ylang and orange blossom in the heart, laid on the sultry base of musk and vanilla.

Extremely long lasting with great projection, whenever I wear it, it transports me to sunny, sandy beaches combined with beautiful flower garlands and a hint of suntan lotion.

Enjoy the summer while it lasts!!
