Perfume of the week… Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Yuzu…

Every year the Green Tea family gets a new addition (or two) and in 2014 the talented perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux created Green Tea Yuzu based on this ancient Asian citrus. In his words: “There’s an uplifting, refreshing beauty and elemental purity that the Yuzu fruit can bring to the senses, whether you experience it in tea, cuisine or even for therapeutic purposes. I was inspired by these unique properties, and wanted to pair them with notes that I felt reflected the lively and light-hearted personality of the fragrance wearer.”

The notes are:

Top: yuzu, lemon, bergamot, lemon leaves, green tea

Heart: mint, yuzu, currant buds, thyme, neroli, green tea

Base: musk, ambrette, birch

It opens very fresh, aromatic, tart and bright with the citruses dancing in the sunshine, yuzu taking centre stage and floating in a green and herbal cloud of tea leaves, thyme and currant. After a while you get a hint of neroli that mingles with the green tea and helps out soften the tartness before musk and abrette settle down the whole composition to a soft and sensual musky skin scent. Sweet, bitter, breezy, floating, musky and herbal, Green Tea Yuzu is an uplifting fragrance, refreshing and green, very suitable for summer especially if you like aromatic tea scents with a twist!
