Rouge Allure Ink is Chanel’s take on Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I must say it’s a visual masterpiece, the mini tube with the doe-foot applicator in the gorgeous frosted glass that allows you to see the shade inside and the classic Chanel black and gold lid is just plain gorgeous.
There are 8 shades to choose from and most of them have been sold out since their release. Chanel introduced them as “Matte liquid lip colours. An intense and luminous ink. With its fine and dense pigments, it instantly and weightlessly fuses with the lips for a long-lasting result”.
The shade I got is no. 142 Creatif, a warm rose pink. Upon application it doesn’t dry and it does need a few layers, especially if you want a bolder result as the formula is truly featherweight. The impression that leaves me with is one of a lip stain and not the solid colour of the matte liquid lipsticks we’re used to wearing now. The light liquid formula is pleasant to apply and doesn’t dry the lips at all but it stays quite glossy and does transfer quite a bit.
If you are looking for something in the liquid lipstick department but also love soft moisturized lips and don’t mind reapplying throughout the day, rouge Allure Ink would be an excellent choice for you.
