Aromatics Elixir by Clinique has been around since 1975 and it’s one of the most recognizable perfumes of all times both for its unique scent and potency. One spray is enough to leave a lasting mark wherever you go; no wonder many women have chosen it to be their signature strength.
It took Clinique almost 40 years to release another edition of this classic and in 2014 we were introduced to Aromatics in White, a lighter, airier interpretation of the original. The notes are:
Sichuan pepper, violet leaves and labdanum in top notes. The heart notes include rose, orange blossom and patchouli, leather musk, leading to the base notes of grey amber, benzoin and vanilla.
It still remains a very true chypre and very relatable to the original, however it’s toned down a lot and can be worn easily during daytime. The patchouli is warm and sweet, spiced up by the pepper and labdanum, while the violet leaves add sparkle. The beautiful rose is very present in the heart adding the familiar depth and strength in its heart. The drydown is soft, long lasting and comforting, lingering on like second skin and sending waves of a cozy musk, vanilla and amber combo. It's a beautiful fragrance and very easy to wear especially if you liked the original but found it a bit overpowering.
Have a great week everyone!
