We're celebrating fragrance every day but the National Fragrance Week is always a very good way to bring my favourite thing, perfume, in the spotlight! One of the perfume brands that I definitely wanted to feature is MiN New York as Chad Murawczyk, their founder, whom I had the opportunity to meet in London a few months ago, is a fan of telling stories and has a unique way of transforming them into unique scents. He uses moments in time to tap into memories and his first set of 11 Scent Stories - perfumes, was extremely successful. (you can find reviews of all of them on my blog).
Scent Stories Vol.2 followed in 2015 with 5 fragrances this time and Vol.3 in 2017 with just one fragrance; Voodoo.
I'm pretty sure there will be more additions to the third volume, however Voodoo is a fragrance that can hold it's own and really make an impression, even overpower any other smell in close proximity.
The notes are:
Top: Cardamom, Galbanum, Lime, Pink Pepper Heart: Geranium, Olibanum, Turkish Rose Base: Patchouli, Leather, Sandalwood, Oud
The base combination of oud, sandalwood, rose & patchouli is called Bukhoor and is a powerful mix used in religious / spiritual ceremonies and to perfume the house to cover strong scents or while preparing for visitors. It's the fundamental base of this fragrance and it's a potent mix that packs a lot of energy while maintaining a soft, calming and comforting aspect. It's extremely easy to like and every time I had it on it attracted people to me. It has that spicy, fresh opening that packs a punch and is followed by the mysterious combo of Bukhoor. It has a way to speak to your soul and it's depth is spiritual and grounding. A combination of rich decadent raw materials that has been transformed into a spiritual scent, soft, deep and intoxicating!
