The Queen of Roses Chloe Eau de Parfum Intense is a fragrance built around rose continuing the legacy that started with Chloe eau de Parfum and Chloe eau de toilette, followed by Chloe Intense Collect'Or, Chloe Rose, Chloe L’Eau, Roses de Chloe & Chloe Fleur de Parfum. Every perfume tries to capture a different time and season of a rose garden and this one, sadly discontinued, is dedicated to the winter season.
The notes of Chloe Eau de Parfum Intense are few but extremely well blended and include rose of course, along with accords of pink pepper, sandalwood and tonka. It was presented in the same bottle as the previous versions and is decorated with a grey ribbon.
I keep coming back to it every year when the season changes as the dark and velvety rose envelops my skin in a warm and comforting way. The rose is heavy, sweet, with a vague oriental feel due to the sandalwood and tonka which also prevents the scent from becoming too floral and light. It lasts many hours on my skin and my scarves retain the scent until they are pretty much washed clean.
If you love rose and are looking for a perfume to warm you up and help you transition to autumn this is an excellent choice! I must warn you however, this one is not for the faint hearted as its strong and mesmerizing scent will enchant the people around you and I would strongly recommend it being worn at a first date or special occasion as it makes a lasting impression.
