Perfume of the week.. Michael Buble By Invitation

Our perfume of the week comes a day late but I promise it’s worth it!

I only got a chance to try By Invitation properly last week when I had the chance to meet the rest of the WeAreThirtyPlus gang for mince pies and mulled wine and was quite impressed by it.

By Invitation was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Karine Dubreuil, the perfumer behind most L’Occittane perfumes and co - responsible for one of my most favourite Aqua Allegorias of all times; Grosellina.

Top notes of By Invitation are red fruits and bergamot; middle notes are lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, peony and rose; base notes are sandalwood, musk, vanilla and praline.

The beautiful transparent glass bottle adorned with gold details lets the light shine through and once you spray it, the perfume releases its seductive character, gourmand and fruity at the same time. The red berries stand out at the beginning, a blast of fresh and tart fruits, with the flowers making their appearance soon after, excellently blended as in a bouquet, standing out individually but also being part of a great composition; rose, jasmine, peony and lily of the valley, with rose and jasmine being the most prominent on my skin. Effervescent vanilla sweetens and smooths the rich praline and wood notes that release their warmth, while musk creates a soft cloud where everything lays upon. The scent becomes one with my skin and lingers on for many hours leaving a light trail everywhere I go. Perfect for autumn and winter, it’s a very luxurious perfume, sensual and soulful very much like Michael Buble himself.

It can make an excellent gift for Christmas as it looks as great as it smells and now it’s available as a gift set as well!
