There is a slight chance that we already had our share of summer in the UK but the feeling is still out there and with the faintest idea of sunshine I see people rushing to the park or having barbecues in the back yard. I for one turn to lighter and more transparent scents. The ones that have caught my attention lately are...

Estee Lauder – Bronze Goddess

Summertime perfection! Bronze Goddess is synonymous with summer and the Eau Fraiche Skinscent 2017 contains the signature composition of the line with top notes of mandarin, bergamot, lemon and orange, heart notes of tiare flower, jasmine, magnolia, orange blossom bud and lavender and base notes of amber, coconut, sandalwood, vanilla, vetiver and myrrh, it brings out the feeling of the beach, hot sun and sun kissed skin .

Aerin Lauder – Linen Rose

Linen Rose Eau de Cologne by Aerin Lauder is a floral fragrance that combines sea salt, sea notes and orange blossom in the top notes with bulgarian rose, ylang-ylang, coconut nectar and rose oil in the heart; base notes are vanilla and amber. It's light and airy and the addition of the salty note adds a very interesting twist.

Elizabeth Arden – White Tea

A new tea scent by Elizabeth Arden that is separated by the Green Tea line.

The soft and delicate scent is said to be created so it can bring you to the refreshing moment of blissful solace experienced at the first sip of tea. White Tea Vapors and Sea Breeze Accord develop into the sweet smell of White Iris before finishing with the warm wood scent of Madras Wood, Tonka Bean and a delicately blended trio of musks.”

Moschino – Pink Fresh Couture

I love Moschino because they never take themselves too seriously. The new addition to the Couture family is bright pink and fresh with pink grapefruit in the top, black currant and lily of the valley. The floral heart includes rose, pomegranate and pink hyacinth, while the base notes musk, ambrosian and cedar. It's fun and light and spraying yourself from this bottle reminds me the line from my Big Fat Greek Wedding: "put some Windex on it"!

Jo Malone – Star Magnolia

This scent is the actual Star of this summer! Beautiful, light and fresh with a rich line of products that include the most divine hairspray.

Top notes are lemon, ginger and shiso; middle notes are magnolia and neroli; base notes are cedar and amber.

Christian Dior – J’Adore In Joy

Every time the ad is on tv with Charlize I can't take my eyes of her. She's the perfect embodiment of this perfume, the scent of joy, love for life, instant fun and the exclamation of spring. It is said to be a daring fruity- floral with a salty taste. I love all versions of it and in the new one in-house perfumer Francois Demachy adds an unexpected and unusual touch of salt to the warm floral composition, inspired by the natural phenomenon and finest gourmet salt "Fleur de Sel". This salty accord in the top of the composition emphasizes the combination of white flowers that includes sambac jasmine, neroli, tuberose and ylang-ylang from Grasse. An accord of ripe peaches in the perfume’s base gives the whole composition a fruity touch. Gorgeous !

Tom Ford – Mandarino di Amalfi Aqua

Picture perfect scent, it transports you to the Amalfi cliffsides, with their citrus fruits and calm idyll, capturing the bright tranquility. "At day’s close, the air, scented with mint, thyme and wildflowers, mingles with a warm breeze of night-blooming flowers."

Herbal, bright and slightly earthy it's a perfect depiction of a favorite summertime destination.

Sisley - Izia

Sisley Izia is a "modern, new and multi functional" perfume that focuses on rose and provides an interesting twist. The composition begins with aldehydes, white bergamot and pink pepper. A rose accord in the "sophisticated" heart of the perfume is enriched with transparent floral notes and angelica. Amber, musk and cedar form the warm woody-musky base of the fragrance.

The aldehydes and pink pepper add a bright sunny sparkle that prepare the ground for a fresh, playful rose, while he base notes add enough warmth, just like summer nights.

Coach the fragrance - Coach Eau de Toilette

Allegedly inspired by the spontaneous energy and urban style of downtown New York. The fragrance is described as a floral - green composition full of contrasts, starting with pear, mandarin oil and pink grapefruit, developing with a heart of elegant white Alba rose, Bulgarian rose and Sambac jasmine, and ending with a base of white cedar, musk, sandalwood and oak moss.

It's fresh and bright and one of my go to's for summer.

V&R – Magic Collection -Dancing Roses

V & R really used Magic and made the roses dance with this one as this floral-fruity-oriental fragrance has the focus on rose, along with the accompanying notes of pink pepper, litchi, saffron and cherry brandy.

It's not as light as the other ones but it's bright and voluptuous and dipped in cherry brandy. A fine fruity rose with a hint of spice and booze. Unconventional but utterly beautiful.
