Firedance Eau de Parfum
Ruth Mastenbroek introduced a new packaging look recently for her fragrances inspired by the drop; the precious perfume drop that can awaken emotions and change our moods. Also a 4th fragrance named Firedance was added to the line, a rich rose centered scent which we had the opportunity to try last week at yet another excellently organised event by The Perfume Society at Fenwick Bond Street. I am a big fan of Ruth's work, you can read my review on Oxford here, so this new fr

Daniel Josier at Fenwick Brent Cross
What I love about all Fenwick stores is that very frequently they host "Meet our Experts" events where all shoppers have the opportunity to meet with people from the brands, get special treatments, perks and learn more about the inspiration behind the products. Fenwick Brent Cross is hosting an event now that will last until Sunday the 17th of September and Daniel Josier perfumes was invited to take part. I attended on Tuesday as the "Expert", representing them and giving the

Fleur de Point concept perfume
Fleur De Point is a new concept that combines scents with words; their creator Marie doesn’t classify herself as a perfumer or a poet, she just found a way to combine two of her favourite things; writing and smelling and found a way for the stories to endure a while longer after reading. There are 9 +1 fragrances in the collection with unique names and stories. Biche Criminelle (Criminal Doe) The story about a naughty doe who loves guilty pleasures! Notes Juniper Berries, Ra

Summer holidays recap
I don't know if you follow me on Instagram / Facebook but if you do, you must have noticed that I've spent quite a long time vacationing in Greece. We managed to get quite a few days off from work and combined holidays with some long overdue things we had to take care of. This included a trip to the storage we still have, packed with things from a previous life; at least that's how it feels like now. I managed to dig up most of my mini perfumes but I'm sure there's still a fe

4160 Tuesdays… Killer Rose
Coming back from my holidays and the scorching temperatures of Greek summer, I craved for scents that matched the cooler weather and what more British to choose than a rose scent? However I didn’t settle for a simple, pretty rose; no I went for Killer Rose, 4160 Tuesdays’ amped up version of their original rose perfume, Raw Silk & Red Roses. It’s a sweet, honeyed, jammy rose with a rich woody base that is soft and enveloping. Sweet and plumy opening gives way to a full bloom

Missoni Parfum Pour Homme
One for the boys! Missoni is launching soon a beautiful fougere aromatic woody perfume with notes of lavender, ginger and Mediterranean herbs. I had the opportunity to try it at the Aspects Beauty Pr fragrance day about a month ago and I was impressed by its fresh, vibrant, aromatic and woody character. The bottle is quite lovely too; dark purple with a gorgeous metallic zig zag cap with the Missoni trademark pattern. Top notes are lemon, grapefruit and lavender; middle notes

The Travel Edition Box by The Perfume Society
Today marks the first day of my long awaited summer holidays and I tried to pack lightly! I usually pack samples and my trusted Travalo but thankfully The Perfume Society has released a perfume box that’s just perfect. It includes a great selection of perfume samples plus a couple of gorgeous extras: Molton Brown’s refreshing and shareable Coastal Cypress and Sea Fennel Bath & Shower Gel and Philosophy’s Exfoliating Facial Wash. The scents included are: Moschino Pink Fresh C

Agonist Solaris & White Lies review
Continuing my review on the Agonist perfumes, I take a look today on Solaris & White Lies as I found them both to be great for summer and plan to take the samples I own with me on my holidays. Solaris was launched in 2014 and is inspired by the never ending sunsets of the Nordic summers. Like the sun that remains bright, warm and magically hazy throughout the day and night, Solaris envelops you with a citrusy cloud, and immediately transfers you to a sunny beach! Top notes: P

Christian Louboutin, Bikini Questa Sera
The master of red soles, Christian Louboutin, following the huge success of his beauty line launched in 2006 a trio of perfumes called Tornade Blonde, Trouble in Heaven and Bikini Questa Sera. Bikini Questa Sera is an Oriental Floral fragrance and the notes are: green notes, jasmine, tuberose, australian sandalwood, haitian vetiver and ambergris. This one is my favorite of all three and I rediscovered it last week when I was going through my samples and minis to decide what I

& Other Stories Body Mists
Scandinavian fashion house & Other Stories was launched in 2013 and their cosmetics line was an immediate success. One of the first products launched was an Eau De Toilette called Rose Revival, created by Ben Gorham of Byredo, a sweet ethereal rose that received great reviews. Since then they have launched a lot more scents that also come in other forms; creams, shower gels, scrubs and my favourite body mists that are perfect for summer. All & Other Stories fragrances were ma

Le Jardin Retrouvé Citron Boboli & Rose Trocadéro
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend another event organised by The Perfume Society and Shephen Matthews that allowed us to discover the revived Le Jardin Retrouvé perfume house. Le Jardin Retrouvé was founded in 1975 by Yuri Gutsatz, and was the very first of what would later become known as “niche” perfume brands. When he died in 2005, Le Jardin Retrouvé slowly declined but in 2016, Yuri’s son, Michel, decided to revive Le Jardin Retrouvé with his wife Clar

The Perfume Garden by Marina Barcenilla
Continuing with my reviews of Marina Barcenilla's perfumes, this week we take a look - or sniff to be more precise - of The Perfume Garden, Marina'a first perfume that launched her brand. From Marina's website: The Story: Fragranced with a thousand blooms, the Perfume Garden smiles and welcomes you with its roses, such beautiful roses. Feel the magic that emanates from the tree that provides lily pond shade; I nurtured it and I loved it. The Perfume Garden has been my friend

Under the Orange Tree by Marina Barcenilla Perfumes
A couple of weeks ago Marina kindly sent me samples of her perfumes to try. Marina Barcenilla launched The Perfume Garden about 6 years ago and her vision was "to create the finest fragrances using what nature has to offer". Her perfumes are all natural and during this short period of her journey she has won numerous awards including two FiFi Awards, one last year with India and one this year with Black Osmanthus. I will be reviewing all of her perfumes as I literally can't

Agonist Vanilla Marble
Summer has finally arrived and my cravings for ice cream have increased dramatically. My favorite flavor is seemingly simple, plain vanilla, however I have tried a lot of vanilla ice creams and can only name a few that bring to life this exceptional ingredient. Vanilla ice cream must be soft, creamy, addictive and very aromatic very much like Agonist's Vanilla Marble perfume that envelops you with it's sweet, yet light and cool scent once you spray it on your skin.
